I just bought a new dress made of Java wax fabric and it is very stiff. How do I soften the material? If you want to know how to soften your clothes, then read on for some helpful tips!

African/Java wax print fabrics will naturally become softer after several washes but spraying with diluted fabric softener before ironing can help speed up this process if necessary. I prefer using a fragrance free brand, but any softener will do.

  • Add fabric softener to a quarter of a 16oz spray bottle.
  • Fill the bottle with water, give it a good shake and spray on frabric.
  • Iron, using the cotton setting.

I hope these tips were helpful. Let us know below if you’ve used any of the solutions in this blog post and how it worked for you!
